€49
including VAT · one payment · no subscription · perpetual licence for the 1.x line
- Save an image, copy a frame to the clipboard, write a sprite sheet, record a turntable or animation clip, run a shot destination, rig a character automatically, put motion capture onto a character, and export a model as GLB or FBX with skeleton, skin weights and clips. In Windows Explorer and in Directory Opus.
- One edition holds every feature.
- A 100 GB plan on Skirnir for 90 days
- Every 1.x update is free.
- Use it on every machine you work on yourself.
- No account and no activation. The licence is checked on your own machine, so your copy does not depend on any server staying up.
- Works offline, including inside a studio network that cannot reach the internet.
Storage plans
A plan lets you share 3D models and scenes on your portfolio, embed them on other sites, and publish guided tours.
Prices include VAT · yearly costs the same as ten months · Paddle is the merchant of record
Storage included with a Heimdall3D licence
Buying Heimdall3D includes 100 GB on Skirnir for 90 days from the purchase, with no mark on embeds. It applies to the account whose email address matches the purchase. On the forum, the licence raises your limits to 2 GB held, 50 files and 1 GB per day.
Free account
- Models, Gaussian splats, streamed captures and point clouds, shared with the Heimdall3D mark, up to 1 GB held
- Guided tours built and tried in the editor; a plan publishes them
- 250 MB held on the forum
- Up to 10 files and 150 MB uploaded per day
- Forum models embedded on other sites play for 72 hours, then show the still image
When a plan ends
Your page becomes a free account's: up to 1 GB stays live with the Heimdall3D mark, and your tours are kept for when a plan returns. Past 1 GB, models show the still image with the mark until you renew.
What “including VAT” means
€49 is the total in every country, whatever the local rate. Nothing is added at checkout. The key arrives by email, so there is no delivery charge.
What is free, and what you are paying for
Thumbnails, the preview pane and the viewer window are free, in Windows Explorer and in Directory Opus, on every supported file. They need no key and they never expire.
A licence unlocks the eight paid actions: saving an image, copying a frame, writing a sprite sheet, recording a turntable or animation clip, running a shot destination, automatic rigging, putting motion capture onto a character, and exporting a model as GLB or FBX with skeleton, skin weights and clips. Without a key the buttons are still there. Pressing one opens a card that names the action and links to this page.
Try it on your own files for as long as you like, and see whether it works on your machine before you pay.
What you need
It runs on 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. Windows Explorer gets thumbnails and the preview pane, and the installer adds the Directory Opus 13 plugin if it finds Opus. You need a graphics card with Vulkan 1.2 or newer.
All supported formats are on the product page.
Refunds
Everything except the eight paid actions works before you pay, so you can test the renderer, the formats and your graphics card first. If you want your money back, see the refunds page.
Later versions
Your payment covers everything in the 1.x line. A later major version would be 2.x at its own price, and I intend to offer existing owners an upgrade price.
Who you actually pay
Paddle sells this as merchant of record, so Paddle is the legal seller and the name on your card statement and your invoice. The software is licensed to you by me, under the terms.
Paddle charges and remits the VAT for your country, so the price above is the price you pay. A business buying in the EU can enter its VAT ID in their checkout for the reverse charge.
Buying through the Microsoft Store
Heimdall3D on the Microsoft Store is the Windows Explorer version. A Store app is not allowed to write into another program's folder, so the Directory Opus plugin comes from the installer on this site.
The licence is the same in both places. One key covers the eight actions in Windows Explorer and in Directory Opus, wherever you bought it.
