Model credits
Every picture on this site was rendered by Heimdall3D from a 3D model somebody else made. This page names each model and its licence. Heimdall3D is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of the people or companies named here.

Models in the public domain
These are CC0 and require no credit. They are listed anyway, because knowing what a render is of is part of being able to judge it.
- Flight Helmet, Toy Car, Sci-Fi Helmet, Glass Vase with Flowers and the Diffuse Transmission Teacup, from the Khronos glTF Sample Assets CC0 1.0.
- Brass Goblets and Bronze Whale Statue by Tina.
- Gothic Cabinet 01, Gothic Bed 01, Chandelier 01, Lantern Chandelier 01 and Chinese Chandelier by Kirill Sannikov.
- Brass Vase 03 by Rico Cilliers, Coffee Cart 01 by Joe Seabuhr, Antique Katana 01 by Tal Swicegood, Lantern 01 by Rajil Jose Macatangay, and Classic Laptop by Arrangemonk.
- All of the above except the Khronos set are from Poly Haven, CC0 1.0.
- The lighting in every render is the CC0 Poly Haven HDRI that ships with the plugin. Only its light and its reflections appear; the environment itself is not drawn.
Models under a commercial licence
These are not public domain. They are used here under terms that permit rendering them, and the 3D data itself is not passed on.
- The woman in the sprite sheet on the Windows Explorer page is
Renderpeople's
rp_sophia_animated_003, from their free collection. Renderpeople's terms allow rendering still images and animations for advertising, and forbid making the 3D data available to third parties. The sheet is a render; the model is not distributed.
What ships inside the plugin
These install onto your machine with Heimdall3D. They are listed for the same reason as the models above.
- The rigged mannequin that plays a motion capture clip is Quaternius's Universal Animation Library 2, CC0 1.0.
- The four environment maps are from Poly Haven, CC0 1.0.
- The twelve presentation floors are from ambientCG and Poly Haven, CC0 1.0.
- Every toolbar and picker glyph is Tabler Icons, MIT.
The libraries compiled into the plugin carry their own notices. Those are reproduced in
THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md, which installs beside the plugin: cgltf, ufbx, OpenEXR
with Imath, Basis Universal, Draco, meshoptimizer, MikkTSpace, stb_image, Zstandard,
libdeflate and OpenJPH.
What runs the accounts on this site
Sign-in uses passkeys, and the code behind it is ours. The authors below are named anyway, because the work would have been slower without them.
- The CBOR an authenticator answers in is decoded by Faye Amacker's fxamacker/cbor, MIT.
- go-webauthn, BSD-3-Clause, was read while ours was written, and its test data is what ours is checked against.
- The forum's post composer is built on Marijn Haverbeke's ProseMirror, MIT, with its contributors. The markdown it writes is still rendered by our own code.
About the renders
Every image on this site was produced by Heimdall3D's own renderer, the same code that draws the thumbnails in Windows Explorer and Directory Opus and fills the preview pane. Nothing was retouched, relit by hand, or finished in another program.
